We wish to create a unique experience for all and to that end, ask that only serious children writers apply. 

For all our Workshops, early notification for registration is sent two weeks prior.

Registration opens September 8, 2025. We ask that you send 3 sample pages of your work (double space / 12 point font and 1” margins all around) to: lisa@bigsurchildrenswriters.com. BE SURE YOU IDENTIFY ON YOUR DOCUMENT OR IN EMAIL WHICH WORKSHOP YOU’RE APPLYING TO - CALIFORNIA or CAPE COD. Also, we’ve been asked this question enough times to note here that you’re more than welcome to attend both. Submitted material does not have to be the work you plan on bringing to the Workshop.

Once we’ve reviewed your material, we will contact you directly.  

Please know this Workshop fills up quickly and there is limited space available. 

Your fee includes four critique group sessions (two mentors for two sessions), all panel discussions, Friday and Saturday night stay, dinner on Friday and Saturday night, and lunch on Saturday. Breakfast and drinks are your responsibility.

Do you have a guest accompanying you? If they wish to join us for meals, an additional fee of $380 will be incurred.
